Configure your customer Messenger
Open the channel
Go to **Settings → Channels → Messenger**. This channel controls your workspace customer chat. It is separate from system notification settings and from the DHRU support service used to contact DHRU about your own subscription.
Configure the experience
1. Review **Channel** availability.
2. Set the background, primary color, and other branding controls.
3. Write a short greeting, AI introduction, and suggested questions.
4. Choose the launcher corner and offsets so it does not cover important controls.
5. Review the preview before saving.
Choose features deliberately
Feature | Check before enabling
AI handling | Your published knowledge has accurate requirements and policies
Knowledge search | Suitable customer articles are available
Conversation history | Customers can find earlier conversations
Human handoff | Your team has a working Inbox ownership process
Notifications | Customer wording matches the way your team responds
Attachments | Your plan and customer workflow support file sharing
Set handoff expectations
Use **Reply time text**, **Handoff intro**, and **Offline fallback** to explain what the customer should do next. Write the response time your team can actually support. Avoid promising a person is online unless your staffing process confirms it.
Save and verify
Save changes, then open the customer-facing widget in an authorized test context. Check the greeting, search, handoff, and mobile placement. The settings preview is a design preview; confirm the actual customer widget separately.
Install elsewhere when available
If **Install script** is available, use the generated snippet and the supplied script URL/API base for your workspace. Do not copy another tenant’s values or invent an API URL. Install on sites you control, then test the real published page. If the install section is absent, ask your administrator which installation route is supported for this workspace.
