Understand client wallet balances

Open a client from **Clients > List** and choose **Wallet**. Check the client ID and currency before using any amount for an account or payment decision. Balance viewing and balance management have separate permissions.

Read the wallet

**Wallet balance** is the current account credit in each displayed currency. **Unpaid balance** identifies funding that remains associated with unpaid invoices. **Balance locked in ongoing orders** shows credit tied to orders still in progress. Review the related orders and invoices before assuming all displayed credit is available for another purpose.

Wallet summaries can present converted totals across currencies. Use the per-currency amount when reconciling a transaction. A converted summary is not evidence that the account holds that amount in the summary currency, and exchange-rate changes can alter its presentation.

Investigate an unexpected amount

1. Refresh Wallet after recent activity.

2. Open **Ledger** and filter to the affected currency and date.

3. Follow the related invoice, order, or transfer reference.

4. Compare the credit/debit, running balance, invoice payment, and order status.

5. Check pending orders and any enabled overdrive allowance.

6. If the wallet differs from the ledger, investigate the entries before applying a reconciliation correction.

Adding funds can increase the wallet even when the new invoice is Unpaid. A wallet balance therefore does not prove the client paid an external provider. Likewise, a negative balance can be permitted by Wallet overdrive; it is not automatically a failed ledger calculation. Use the underlying records to establish the cause.
