Compare and correct wallet/ledger differences
In the client Wallet card, use **Check wallet and ledger balances**. The check refreshes derived wallet totals and compares the stored wallet balance with its ledger total. It does not add a balancing ledger entry until you explicitly apply a correction.
Compare first
1. Confirm the client and refresh recent transactions.
2. Run Check wallet and ledger balances.
3. Review **Currency**, **Expected**, **Has**, and **Difference** in Wallet balance reconciliation.
4. Compare the affected ledger entries with their invoices, orders, and transfers. Establish which amount is correct before considering a correction; the stored wallet amount is the reference for this action.
5. Choose **Ignore** to leave balances unchanged while investigating.
Apply an intentional correction
After the underlying entries are checked, authorized staff may choose **Apply correction**. Read **Correct wallet balances?** carefully. Despite that confirmation’s wording, the current operation adds a credit or debit entry so the ledger matches the stored wallet balance. Confirm only when that is the intended correction, then refresh and compare again. Check the new ledger entry and audit history.
What this cannot establish
A matching wallet and ledger does not prove an external gateway received or refunded money. A balancing entry also does not repair a wrong invoice, missing provider reconciliation, duplicate business transaction, or incorrect ledger source. Resolve those underlying issues through the corresponding workflow.
If a correction response is uncertain, reload and compare before retrying. Do not delete or insert unrelated ledger entries to make the numbers agree. Preserve the client, currency, time range, and relevant record references for a private support investigation.
