Edit header and footer navigation with AI

Prepare the intended theme draft with Connected AI and ask it to read the current navigation before changing it. Specify **header** or **footer**, the exact label, target URL, and intended position.

Add or edit a link

Use the existing page's actual URL for an internal destination. For an external link, provide its complete HTTPS address and say whether it should open in a new tab. Ask the AI to keep unrelated items, translations, icons, and order unchanged. Updating individual items is safer than replacing the entire menu for a small edit.

Nesting and visibility

State which parent item a submenu belongs under. Set guest/public and signed-in visibility according to the intended audience. If labels are translated, specify the language labels rather than replacing every language with the same text. Menu visibility does not replace the destination page's access controls.

Move or remove

Ask for the item to move before or after a named existing item. Removing a menu entry does not delete its page. If a page URL changes, inspect links that still point to the old address and update external references separately.

Check the draft

Preview the header and footer on desktop and mobile, as a guest and a signed-in customer. Open every changed link. If the AI reports a revision conflict, have it reread the current navigation before retrying instead of overwriting another editor's changes.
