Crop and resize an image in Files

Open **Content → Files**, choose an image, and use **Edit**. A single newly selected image can also enter the editor before its upload. You need permission to manage files.

Make the edit

Use the available crop, resize, rotate, adjustment, filter, watermark, and annotation tools for the intended asset. Crop presets include banner sizes, product images, payment-method images, social sharing, and common dimensions. Choose a size that fits the place the image will appear instead of enlarging a small image unnecessarily.

Save and check

Apply the intended changes and choose the editor's save action. Wait for the upload/save result and inspect the image in its folder. The editor can save an optimized WebP image when supported, with PNG as a fallback; check the resulting asset rather than assuming the original extension remains unchanged.

A previous file needs cleanup

Editing an existing image creates the edited upload and may require removal of the original. If the editor reports cleanup is pending, use the offered retry action and confirm the final library state. Do not repeatedly save the same edit while the previous upload result is uncertain.

An image will not open

Use the displayed retry action if available. An invalid or inaccessible source may need a new upload. Keep an original outside the editor when you need to preserve it, and review any content that linked to the earlier asset after replacing or deleting it.
