Create roles with the permissions your team needs
Open **Settings → Users & Roles → Roles**. A role is a reusable set of permissions assigned to staff users. You need permission to manage users and roles.
Add Role
1. Choose **Add Role**.
2. Enter a role name using 2–20 letters, numbers, or underscores.
3. Select the required permissions in the module, group, and action matrix. At least one permission is required.
4. Separate viewing from actions such as adding, editing, deleting, sending, and publishing.
5. Save, then assign the role in the staff user's Profile.
Edit an existing role
Open its edit action and change the permission matrix. The role name is read-only in the editor. Review all staff using the role before saving, because the same role can be assigned to more than one person. The built-in **Administrator** role cannot be modified or deleted.
Website and AI access
Website Builder has separate view, edit, and publish permissions. Connected AI has view, create, and manage permissions. Granting a token scope does not expand the staff member's role. Keep publish and all-staff connection management limited to the people who need those actions.
A page or action is missing
Check the staff user's assigned role and the specific module/group action, not only the role name. Some features also depend on workspace availability or plan access. Refresh the staff session after an authorized role change and test with the affected staff account.
