Configure primary and backup supplier routing

Open the service’s the **Order Automation** tab configuration. Prepare at least two equivalent supplier-service mappings when you intend automatic fallback. A backup must fulfill the same customer request and accept compatible order fields.

Configure sources and routing

1. Add the primary supplier and its exact supplier service.

2. Add the secondary and any further sources in the intended order.

3. Review each mapping, field requirements, cost and currency.

4. Choose **Order API Routing Mode**.

5. Save, then inspect an appropriate order’s selected supplier and activity.

| Mode | Reviewed behavior |

| --- | --- |

| Disabled | No automatic fallback; staff use the selected source. |

| Auto Switch to Backup Source | Eligible failed work moves to the next configured supplier source in order; Professional or higher is required. |

| Smart AI Routing | Enterprise option; the current implementation follows the same ordered fallback sequence. It does not yet demonstrate cost/success-rate optimization. |

A supplier must be the primary source and at least one additional supplier service is needed for useful fallback. Digital inventory groups are not automatic supplier-routing targets. Existing orders can carry their own saved source list, so changing today’s product configuration does not establish that an older order was rerouted.

**Expected result:** failed eligible work can move through the configured supplier sequence and records API-switch activity. If there is no fallback, check the plan, source order, completed order state and whether a usable next supplier mapping exists. Do not reset or resend a charged external request without reconciling it.
