Edit your current website with Connected AI
Connect an authorized AI client to your workspace using Connected AI. Website tasks need website read/edit scopes and the matching Website Builder permissions. Preview and publication additionally require publish access.
Start with the current site
Ask the AI to read the website overview and identify the published theme before making changes. For a normal update, ask it to prepare edits on that same theme, preserving its name and ID. The supported **theme_edit** flow prepares or reuses a draft; saving that draft does not update the public visitor bundle.
Give a concrete request
For example: “Edit the current website theme. Shorten the home-page introduction, keep the current header and footer, and preserve existing product/category modules. Show me a draft preview before publishing.” Specify the target page, content, and what should remain. Ask for a separate new theme only when you actually want a different design or comparison.
Manual and AI content
Connected AI can edit supported AI sections and allowed theme settings. Native drag-and-drop page blocks are not automatically editable as AI sections and must not be replaced just to work around that restriction. Use the manual editor for those blocks. If the site was edited manually after an AI write, review the current state before authorizing a takeover.
Finish the draft
Have the client validate the draft, summarize its difference from the live theme, and produce the current private preview. Review the pages, links, customer states, and mobile layout yourself. Publication is a separate confirmed action; “saved” or “draft ready” does not mean the change is live.
