Refund an order in the dashboard
Open **Orders** in the PayerOne dashboard and select the payment you want to refund. On the order’s **Items** tab, the **Refund** action appears on the right side of the **Order Items** header when the payment is eligible. Its tooltip shows the available refundable amount and currency.
When Refund is available
The order must be **Paid**, use a supported gateway, and have an amount still available to refund. Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal and Cashfree are currently supported. Pending or partially paid orders and unsupported payment methods do not offer this action. A missing provider payment reference or captured amount also prevents a supported refund.
Submit a refund
1. Select **Refund** in the Order Items header.
2. In **Create Refund**, check the available amount and currency.
3. Enter the **Amount** for a partial refund, or select **Full** to fill the entire amount currently available. Full means the remaining refundable amount, which may be less than the original payment if a previous refund exists.
4. Add an optional **Reason** of up to 255 characters.
5. Review the amount and the notice that the refund goes through the gateway to the original payment method.
6. Select **Submit Refund** to send the request, or **Cancel** to close it without submitting.
The amount must be greater than zero and no greater than the available refundable amount. Check the currency shown by the refund dialog: it follows the captured gateway payment and can differ from the original order currency. PayerOne platform fees are not automatically reversed by this flow.
Read the result
**Refund completed** means the returned refund is recorded as succeeded. **Refund request submitted** can mean the provider result is still non-final. A failure message needs review before another attempt. Keep the order open to inspect its history; a submitted request is not proof of completed customer receipt.
Once the order has refund history, a **Refunds** tab appears. It shows **Captured**, **Refunded**, **Pending** and **Refundable** amounts plus each refund ID, amount, status, provider reference, reason and creation time. Provider Events appear when reconciliation events are available. Refunded and Pending Refund totals can also appear below the Items total.
Refresh a pending result
An existing refund in `created`, `processing` or `pending` state can show a row refresh action labelled **Refresh from provider**. The refresh icon in the Order Items or Refunds header checks active refund statuses. Use these controls to update the existing request; they do not create a new refund.
If a submit request times out or the outcome is unclear, inspect the Refunds history and refresh before clicking Submit Refund again. The dashboard creates a new submission reference for a new submit action; repeated clicks after an uncertain response are not a substitute for checking the recorded request.
If the provider and PayerOne still disagree, contact support with the PayerOne order ID, refund ID, provider refund reference if shown, approximate time and safe error message. Do not include gateway credentials. Refunds initiated separately in the provider dashboard need their own reconciliation before creating another PayerOne request.
