Understand recharge vouchers and promotions

Recharge vouchers

A recharge voucher is a unique code used to recharge a user's credit balance. In the legacy voucher controls, set the **amount**, **currency**, and **time limit** for the code before generating and distributing it.

Keep unused codes private, and check the resulting account entry when reviewing a redemption. The source describes these three controls but does not provide a menu path, a code format, or a universal expiry period.

Promotion codes

The legacy promotion feature can generate codes in bulk for discounts on selected products or services. Select the product/service scope, then choose a **fixed amount** or **percentage** discount and enter its value.

A promotion discounts a purchase; a recharge voucher adds account credit. Choose the type that matches the intended customer action, and do not publish live codes in examples.
