Connect a Telegram bot and channel

Archived instructions for existing Fusion Owned installations; labels and available controls depend on the installed build.

Create the bot with BotFather

1. Find Telegram's official **BotFather** account.

2. Enter `/help`, then choose or enter `/newbot`.

3. Follow the prompts to choose the bot's display name and a unique username.

4. Keep the generated API token private, and use it only in the intended Fusion connection configuration.

Creating a bot does not make it reply to orders by itself; it still needs the site's bot connection or backend configuration.

Connect the notification channel

The source's channel setup has two steps:

1. Open the intended channel's **Channel Info** and use its channel identifier for the **Telegram Channel ID** setting. The old guide describes this as the last part of the channel information.

2. Add the bot as an administrator of that channel.

Check that the bot and channel belong to the same intended notification setup before testing with a non-sensitive notification.

Client-side bot setup

The archive distinguishes a notification-channel bot from a client-side bot used by customers, but its client-side setup steps were provided only in a video. Do not assume the channel configuration also enables client ordering. For a build-specific setup question, identify the Fusion build and whether you need notifications or the customer bot, without sending the bot token or connection QR code.

Historical login and Telegram OTP behaviour changed across releases; compare the release notes for the installed build instead of treating the old bot guide as a current authentication setup.
